Is Sidekick part of the SalesMail product?
No. Sidekick is a new, standalone product from SalesMail, but it does integrate with SalesMail.
Sidekick is designed specifically around the community tour experience, using AI to help sales teams prepare for tours, save time, capture insights, create better follow-up, and ultimately make every tour better than the last and drive higher tour-to-move-in conversions.
The integration works at two points in the tour process. Before the tour, from Upcoming Tours on their home page of Sidekick, a salesperson can click to send a pre-tour reminder video through SalesMail. After the tour, Sidekick takes what it learned about that prospect and hands off directly into SalesMail with a personalized follow-up video script, ready to record — built to help secure the deposit or move-in.
What is Sidekick?
Sidekick is an AI-powered tour coaching and tour intelligence product designed to help sales teams convert more tours into move-ins.
For the community team members giving a tour, Sidekick works before, during, and after: it surfaces prospect details and discovery questions to prepare for the tour, records the conversation, and afterward delivers personalized coaching, drafts CRM notes ready to save with one click, and generates a personalized follow-up video script you can record right in SalesMail.
For sales leaders, Sidekick turns individual tours into organization-wide visibility. Instead of relying on anecdotes or the occasional mystery shop, leaders can see trends across every community they oversee — which objections keep coming up, which competitors are being mentioned, which teams are excelling and which need support — and can flag specific tours for additional coaching or add their own feedback directly into a salesperson's app.
What does Sidekick actually do?
Sidekick supports the salesperson before, during, and after the tour.
It can:
- Provide pre-tour coaching to help salespeople prepare
- Record the tour audio (no video) so the conversation can be analyzed
- Provide personalized feedback on how the tour went
- Identify questions that may have been missed so they can be asked before the tour ends
- Create CRM notes from the conversation to save to CRM with a click of a button
- Generate a personalized follow-up video script (one of the most powerful videos you can record in SalesMail)
- Give leaders visibility and insights into what is happening across tours and communities
How does Sidekick handle recording consent?
Recording laws vary by state, so Sidekick is built to get consent every time, regardless of where a community is located.
Before a tour starts, the salesperson sees consent language to share with the people they're touring — something as simple as asking if it's okay to record the conversation to help capture accurate notes. Recording only begins once that consent is given.
If someone doesn't want to be recorded, the tour isn't lost. The salesperson can still dictate their notes into the app after the tour and get the same AI summary, coaching, and one-click CRM save — just without the audio capture during the visit.
How is Sidekick different from SalesMail?
SalesMail helps sales teams use personalized video to communicate with prospects, residents, families, and referral partners.
Sidekick focuses on the in-person tour itself. It uses the conversation during the tour to provide coaching, insights, and follow-up recommendations that can help salespeople save a ton of time, improve, and convert more opportunities.
The two products are complementary, but Sidekick is a separate product.
Who is Sidekick for?
Sidekick is designed for senior living sales teams, including community-level salespeople, sales leaders, regional and corporate leaders, and other leaders responsible for tour performance and conversion.
Can Sidekick be customized to our organization's sales process?
Yes. During onboarding, we gather your sales methodology, rubric categories, discovery questions, and objection-handling approach so coaching reflects how your organization actually sells.
What can leaders learn from Sidekick?
This is one of the most exciting parts of Sidekick.
When leaders have visibility into tours across their organization, they can uncover insights that are difficult to see today. For example:
- Which competitors are being mentioned most often?
- What objections are prospects raising that the team is struggling to handle?
- Which questions are prospects asking repeatedly?
- Are new trends emerging across markets or communities?
- What are top-performing salespeople doing differently?
- Where are salespeople missing opportunities?
- What topics or objections may require additional training?
- What are prospects responding positively to?
- Are certain concerns specific to particular communities or markets?
Instead of relying solely on anecdotal feedback, leaders can begin to see what is actually happening in their tours at scale.
Does Sidekick replace a sales coach?
No. Sidekick is designed to augment and scale sales coaching, not replace the human element.
It gives sales leaders and salespeople more insight into individual tours and creates opportunities for more personalized coaching. Rather than relying on generic training, leaders can identify specific behaviors and skills that need attention. Sidekick also flags individual tours that may need extra attention and provides leadership with a way to add their own coaching notes, which show up directly in the salesperson's app alongside the AI feedback.
Does Sidekick use AI?
Yes. AI is a fundamental part of Sidekick. It analyzes tour conversations to provide personalized coaching, identify missed opportunities, generate CRM notes, and create personalized follow-up recommendations to convert tours to move-ins.
What is "Ask Sidekick"?
Ask Sidekick lets you ask questions directly about your tour data. A salesperson can ask about their own tour, like what they could have done better. A leader can ask across their whole team or organization, like what objections salespeople are struggling with most. Sample questions are suggested, or you can type your own.
Does Sidekick integrate with our CRM?
Sidekick is designed to work with the sales process and will automatically generate CRM notes from tours. Clients who use WelcomeHome or Aline (Sherpa or Enquire) can save those notes to their CRM with the click of a button. Others can copy and paste those notes into any CRM or tool they wish.
If a tour isn't tied to a specific prospect record yet, such as a walk-in, Sidekick will prompt you to search for and connect the right prospect before saving the notes.
When can I see Sidekick?
Sidekick will be demonstrated publicly for the first time at SMASH, October 5-7th.
We're excited to show clients what it can do and demonstrate how the technology can be used to improve tour performance and provide new visibility into the sales process.
