2/24/2026 - Look for a SalesMail update (v3.05) in the App Store (iPhone only) in the next couple of days for this feature!


The Custom Background Lens lets you record SalesMail videos using an image of your choice as your background. Whether you want to feature your company logo, highlight a community image, or create a consistent professional look, this lens makes it easy to customize your videos.

Note: The Custom Background Lens is currently available on iPhone devices only.


How to Use the Custom Background Lens

  1. Open the SalesMail app.

  2. Tap Record Video to open the camera.

  3. Open the Lens Menu.

  4. Select Custom Background.

  5. Choose an image from your photo library.

  6. Position yourself in frame and begin recording.

Your selected image will appear as the background during your video.


Using Your Previously Selected Background

If you’ve already chosen a custom background before, selecting the Custom Background lens will automatically apply the last image you used.

If you want to change your background:

  1. Open the Lens Menu again.

  2. Select Custom Background a second time.

  3. Choose a new image from your photo library.

Note:  Because this lens uses advanced background replacement technology, beauty filtering is not available.


Tips for Best Results

For the best recording experience:

  • Record in a well-lit environment.

  • Avoid wearing clothing that closely matches your background image.

  • Use high-resolution images for clearer results.

  • Keep movement moderate for the cleanest background replacement.

This feature is currently available on iPhone only.

Can I use branded images or logos?

Yes, but please follow your employer's brand guidelines and policies. 

Does this lens include beauty filtering?

No. Beauty filtering is not available when using the Custom Background Lens.
