Most SalesMail lenses will automatically use your preferences for beauty filter on/off and virtual background.  Here is how to set your preferences:

Set your preferences in the Lens Settings on the Record page by clicking the gear icon in the upper right.  Choose whether you want to use the beauty filter when available, and if you'd like a default virtual background you can choose from several options in the drop down menu.  Your preferences are saved automatically and you can click the gear icon again to collapse the menu.

To set your preferences, tap the Account icon in the lower right in the app.  Then select 'Preferences'. Toward the bottom, you can turn the Lens Beauty Filter on or off and choose a default Lens Virtual Background if you would like one.
