Getting Started with Sidekick

Getting Started with Sidekick

Sidekick is SalesMail's AI-powered tour coaching and tour intelligence product. It provides pre-tour coaching, records your community tours, automatically creates CRM notes that you can save with the click of a button, and gives you personalized feedback on how the tour went. Sidekick also prompts you with important questions you may have missed, giving you an opportunity to address them before your visitors leave, and creates a personalized follow-up video script for your prospect and a button to jump right over to SalesMail to record it.

This article walks you through downloading the Sidekick app, logging in, and getting ready for your first tour.

Step 1: Download the Sidekick app

Sidekick is available for both iPhone and Android.

  • iPhone/iPad: Search "SalesMail Sidekick" in the App Store.
  • Android: Search "SalesMail Sidekick" in Google Play.

Step 2: Log in

Sidekick uses the same login credentials as your SalesMail account.

  1. Open the Sidekick app.
  2. Sign in using your existing SalesMail username and password.

If you don't have SalesMail credentials or are having trouble logging in, contact your Client Success Specialist.

Step 3: Record your first tour

When you're ready to begin your tour, open the Sidekick app. If the tour is listed under Today's Tours, tap the tour to get started. For a walk-in, simply tap the big green Start a Tour button.

  • Consent Requirements for Recording: You will be prompted with some language to get the consent of your guests to record the tour so that it can notes for you.  Some communities add this consent language to their guest list so that you can obtain consent that way as well. Click 'Party Consents to Recorded Tour' or 'No Consent - Take Notes' to proceed.
  • When you click 'Party Consents to Recorded Tour', you will see a green record button at the top.  Tap it to start recording the tour.  We recommend carrying your phone or wearing it on a lanyard versus putting it in your pocket, so that you can capture the best audio.  You may pause your recording if anybody needs to take a break, and resume the recording when you are ready to proceed.  When you are completely done with the tour, press the red square stop button.
  • You will be presented with the transcript and a place to add your own notes if you wish.  Then click the green 'Get Coaching' button at the bottom.
  • This will bring you to the Next Actions screen where you can see:
    • Quick coaching feedback such as questions you might need to ask before your visitors leave
    • Summarized CRM notes that you can edit and/or click to save to your CRM
    • A button that will take you straight to your SalesMail record screen with a teleprompter script for a tour follow-up video custom written based on what you learned about your visitors during the tour.
    • A list of Action Items that came from the tour
  • If you want to dig deeper, click the Insights tab to get details on the elements of your sales process rubric.
  • Click the Coaching tab to see your strengths, any coaching from your leader/manager, talk time (you vs. the guests), and view a full scorecard that gives scores for various areas such as Discovery, Rapport, Value Fit, Objection Handling, and Next Step.
  • The Ask Sidekick feature lets you ask questions about your tour such as "What should I do next?".
  • There is a play button in the upper right if you want to listen back to any of your tour later on or view the transcript.

Step 4: Review Previous Tours

If you click the back button you will land back on the Home page where you can access both upcoming tours and previous tours.  Scroll down to your previous tours to review any coaching your leaders added for you.

Sidekick is designed to save you a ton of time, so you can spend less time documenting the interaction and more time building the relationship.
